We worked with our client (a leading research institute) in assessing the novelty of a process for synthesis of a neurotransmitter. We created a customized patent intelligence report equipped with an in-depth study of the reaction scheme, ranging from the reaction kinetics to investigation of the relevant patent data. With the help of this extensive analysis, the client was able to develop a novel method for synthesizing the said neurotransmitter.
Established the novelty of an invention for an automotive parts manufacturer
The design team of the manufacturer came up with an innovative solution to a critical problem faced by several auto parts manufacturer. They wanted protection of the idea at the earliest. When first conducted a patentability search of the idea, we found something very similar already patented. We reported this to the client and the team was quite disappointed. But we sat down with the inventors and did a lot of brainstorming. Finally, we found some points of clear difference between the prior art and the invention. We developed the differences further and prepared the patent application keeping in mind the identified prior art.
Cleared the market hurdles for the launch of a product of a medical device company

The study revealed some patents which were of interest to the client and helped them avoid stepping on private patent territories.
Analyzed the patent portfolio of a Chinese mobile major for our client
Our client wanted an analysis on the entire portfolio of a Chinese mobile company. The portfolio was as big as 800 patents and the requirement was to have an in-depth and through understanding the patents so as to filter out the best of the lot for acquisition. Initially, our aim was to identify the maximum number of patents and then reduce the patent pool to only a few patents which could be of interest to the client. We performed several empirical as well as technical calculations so as to make an objective analysis and boiled down to about 50 patents. Those 50 patents were analyzed by our subject matter experts and finally, 5 patents were reported to the client.
